dress blues army uniform guide: Prussian Line Infantry 1792–1815 Peter Hofschröer, 2012-03-20 At the beginning of this period, the battalions of the Prussian Line usually fought in a linear formation three ranks deep, overwhelming the enemy with fire before a well-timed bayonet attack. By the end, the preferred formation was eight to 12 ranks deep. The responsibility for conducting the fire-fight was now given to the skirmish elements and the artillery. The formed battalions provided support for the fire line, and conducted the decisive bayonet charge. Whatever the change, the spirit and ability of the infantry remained consistently high throughout this bloody period.
dress blues army uniform guide: The Modern Russian Army 1992–2016 Mark Galeotti, 2017-02-23 A full and authoritative illustrated history of Russia's army since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, including Air Assault and Navy ground forces. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia's army has undergone a turbulent transformation, from the scattered left-overs of the old Soviet military, through a period of shocking decay and demoralization, to the disciplined force and sophisticated 'hybrid war' doctrine that enabled Vladimir Putin to seize Crimea virtually overnight in 2014. Using rare photographs and full colour images of the army in action, profiles of army leaders and defence ministers, as well as orders of battle and details of their equipment and dress, this is a vivid account of the army's troubled history and of its character, capabilities and status. Written by an internationally respected author with remarkable access to Russian-language sources and Russian veterans, this study is essential reading for anyone wishing to understand the growing power of Russia's military.
dress blues army uniform guide: The Military Wedding Vanessa L. Baldwin, 2008-01 The Matchbook Prophecies is a collection of provocative verses originally composed in Detroit on matchbooks in the pubs, cafes, and places of social events that Robert Mouton attended. Reflecting his wanderlust lifestyle, The Matchbook Prophecies depicts humanity through a wild and exoteric spectacle. So, imagine your self walking into a café, bar, or a pub and you order a drink, maybe an appetizer and the bartender returns with your order and hands you a matchbook. On the matchbook there are words of mystery that unfold into the future of the evening, if you allow it to go that far. You may embark upon an erotic episode, a fight or even a vision quest to change the world or destroy it. These are the prophecies of our humanity in its most extreme environments, acting out what we are afraid to. Come and experience The Matchbook Prophecies and take a thrilling ride into your soul. Each title such at MUSIC MENU is the name of the bar where I wrote the prophecies on the matchbooks.
